An Intercultural Exchange

The Living Library will facilitate intercultural dialogue between the diverse individuals who make up our TRU community, by lending out human "books" who will speak with participant "readers" about their own cultural points of view and experiences.

The purpose of the Living Library will be to bring together students, faculty, and staff of disparate cultural backgrounds for informal one-on-one or small group discussions. These discussions are intended to foster intercultural understanding between individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to speak to one another.  The international community at TRU makes it the perfect place for an exchange of this nature, and through this event, we hope to challenge some of the notions and stereotypes that individuals may hold.
