Dr. László Puczkó
Health, Tourism and Hospitality: Spas, Wellness and Medical Travel

Dr. Puczkó’s presentation focuses on local, regional and global developments and trends linked to health, wellness, and hospitality. Global cases including those from Russia, Africa, and South-America provide a context for understanding culturally defined wellness and medical rituals, treatments and procedures. Travelling for health has been, and probably will be, one of the most important reasons to travel both internationally and domestically. Therapies based on natural resources with proven benefits (e.g. thermal water, mud) and Body-Mind-Spirit/holistic programs/workshops (e.g. yoga) will be increasingly in demand by international visitors, while lifestyle-oriented programs/workshops (e.g. stress management, nutrition) will also play an important role for accommodating the wellness traveler.
